Apple’s upcoming iPhone 18 series, expected to launch next spring, is already generating discussion after new claims from respected analyst Ming-Chi Kuo revealed unusual hardware details about the standard models.
According to the report, both the iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e will reportedly ship with 9GB of RAM, marking a modest but notable increase over the previous generation.
Unusual RAM Architecture Raises Questions
What makes the claim particularly interesting is the configuration behind the memory upgrade. The devices are said to use six 1.5GB memory dies, a setup described as unconventional compared to the iPhone 17 series, which reportedly uses four 2GB dies.
While the increase to 9GB is not massive on paper, it still represents an improvement in multitasking capability and system performance compared to the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17e.
Apple Intelligence Performance in Focus
