The Wanderlust Ghana @wanderlustghana team on an ambitious road expedition from Ghana to the United States for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, had to bury all their alcoholic drinks before crossing into Kuwait, where alcohol is strictly prohibited.
The travelling group began their journey from Accra on May 2, 2026, intending to drive across multiple countries and continents to support the Ghana national football team at the World Cup.
Videos and updates shared from the journey showed members of the team stopping before entering Kuwait to dispose of and bury their alcohol supplies to avoid violating the country’s laws.
The moment has since gone viral on social media, with many Ghanaians reacting to the group’s dedication, adventurous spirit and willingness to adapt to different cultural and legal environments during the long-distance expedition.
