A 60-year-old man, identified as Opanin Akwasi Wusu, has been found dead in his room at Ahinsan in the Asokwa Municipality of the Ashanti Region after missing for three days.
The man had not been seen for the past three days, leading tenants to assume he had traveled without informing them.
However, a pungent scent emanating from his room raised concerns, prompting people in the house to break in, only to discover his lifeless body in a decomposing state.
The body has been taken to the Kumasi South Hospital, while the police have launched investigations to determine the circumstances surrounding his death.
Speaking on Ghanakoma Morning Show on Akoma 87.9 FM in Kumasi with Sir John, on Friday, May 29,2026, a freelance journalist Safo, who broke the news, said residents in the house began noticing a strong, unpleasant smell coming from the deceased ‘s room on the previous day but were initially unable to identify the source of the odour.
He told Sir John that, residents said they had not seen him for the past three days. They assumed he had travelled, only to later discover that he had died in his room.
The incident has since been reported to the police, who have started investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death.
