Actress and social media influencer Akuapem Poloo has defended the Black Stars following their 1-0 defeat to Colombia in the Round of 32, urging critics to avoid blaming the players or technical team.
Speaking after the match in a video sighted by Ghbase News on her IG page, she said the team’s performance was still commendable despite the result.
“Nobody should open his or her mouth to insult either our coach or our players. Throughout this game, they did well,” she said.
“They did a great job. Despite all the hurt and the way they were stamping and hurting them, they still played well,” she added, noting that even other top sides had str+ggled against Colombia.
“Even Portugal could not defeat these Colombians. Our men played,” she stated.
On the humour side, Poloo teased that off-field factors may have influenced the team’s focus, referencing comments circulating around social media ahead of the match.
“What do you expect when a woman promises a man a n£ked body? When a woman tells a man to mess up and says, ‘If you mess up, I will show you my n£ked body,’” she said.
“So they messed up to see the naked body the woman said she would post if Colombia defeated Ghana,” she added.
