Stonebwoy has reacted to the cancellation of Shatta Wale’s ShattaFest UK 2026 concert after the event was called off by the UK Metropolitan Police due to overcrowding at the venue.
The multiple award-winning musician, despite his long-standing rivalry with Shatta Wale, expressed concern over the situation, describing it as the kind of news nobody involved in the music industry would want to hear.
“This is definitely not the kind of news any event organiser, artist, fan or promoter of the Ghana music agenda wants to hear. Our hearts go out to all those affected,” Stonebwoy wrote.
ShattaFest UK 2026, which formed part of the Ghana Party in the Park celebrations, was scheduled to take place on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Copthall Playing Fields in London.
According to reports, the event had sold out, but thousands of fans arriving at the venue created overcrowding concerns beyond the approved safety capacity.
The situation reportedly escalated at the entrance area, where a large number of attendees gathered around limited entry points, leading to a crowd incident that left some people injured and others requiring assistance.
Police officers and paramedics moved in to control the situation, with authorities eventually shutting down the event.
A message from police officers at the venue informed the crowd: “Too many people. The event is cancelled.”
