North East Gonja DCE Cuts Sod for Construction of New Educational Facilities at Dashie JHS

Dashie, Savannah Region – The District Chief Executive (DCE) for North East Gonja District, Hon. Abdul Mumin Ewuntomah, has officially cut the sod for the construction of a three-unit classroom block, a four-seater KVIP toilet facility, and a urinal for Dashie Junior High School (JHS).

The sod-cutting ceremony, which marked the commencement of the project, was attended by community members, education stakeholders, traditional authorities, and district officials. During the event, Hon. Ewuntomah formally handed over the project documents to the contractor, paving the way for construction works to begin.

Speaking at the ceremony, the DCE reaffirmed the district assembly’s commitment to improving educational infrastructure across the district. He noted that the provision of adequate classrooms and sanitation facilities would help create a more conducive teaching and learning environment for both students and teachers at Dashie JHS.

According to Hon. Ewuntomah, the project forms part of the government’s broader efforts to enhance access to quality education and address infrastructural deficits in schools within the district.

Community leaders and residents expressed appreciation to the district assembly for prioritizing the educational needs of the area. They expressed optimism that the new facilities would significantly improve academic activities and the overall welfare of students.

The project is expected to ease congestion in existing classrooms while providing improved sanitation facilities for the school community upon completion.
