Four people sustained various degrees of injuries in a road accident involving an STC bus and a Kia Picanto taxi at Konongo Akrantiebesa on Friday, June 5.
Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) at the Konongo-Odumasi Fire Station responded to the emergency and rescued a victim who was trapped in the wreckage following the collision.
According to the GNFS, the impact of the crash left both vehicles extensively damaged. The Kia Picanto taxi suffered severe destruction, with its engine compartment completely crushed.

Before the arrival of firefighters, three injured victims had already been rescued by nearby residents and good Samaritans. They were subsequently transported to the Steward Hospital for urgent medical treatment.
Upon reaching the scene, the fire crew focused efforts on rescuing a fourth victim who remained trapped inside the damaged taxi.
The firefighters successfully extricated the victim and transported him to the Asante Akyem Central Hospital to receive medical attention.
