Ghanaian actress and entrepreneur Fella Makafui has said she does not intend to have many children, explaining that she prefers to focus on giving one child the kind of life she believes they deserve.
The former wife of rapper Medikal said having one child is a personal decision based on the standard of living she wants to provide.
“I don’t see the point of having a lot of kids. That’s no shade to anyone who has more than one, but that’s just my preference.
“One is okay for me. The kind of life I want for my child and myself, I don’t want to give birth for the child to come and suffer.
“We need to be very much okay. If Island says, ‘Mummy, I want to travel to this place,’ then I get her ticket so she travels,” she said during a TikTok live session.
The actress also encouraged women to take time to prepare themselves before starting a family, saying parenthood should be approached with careful planning rather than pressure.
“You need to plan. There’s no rush in life. Relax, make good choices, and make sure you are very okay yourself as a woman before you have a child, so that you don’t come and drag anybody on social media. So you don’t become a bitter mother,” she said
“That’s how I see life because I grew up hating my dad. I never understood why he never took care of me. Island is a sweet soul, and her dad is very amazing,” she added.
