Ghanaian socialite Showboy has said he expects more arrests of people involved in alleged cyber fr+ud, claiming many continue to ignore lessons from previous cases.
Reacting after Abu Trica’s extradition to the United States, Showboy said he had repeatedly warned people around him but believes many have refused to change.
“We will be here, and another chairman will be arrested, and when that happens, I will come here and talk about it because my friends are f00ls. They don’t learn,” he said.
Showboy recalled spending time with people he claimed were involved in online fr+ud and said their conduct surprised him.
“I’d be with my friends, and they would be telling small boys what to say to clients. I’d be so surprised. You people are not scared of anything at all. When I came to Ghana, I was sh0cked because I came back with a pris0n mindset,” he said.
He also warned that mobile phones and digital platforms should never be considered private spaces beyond the reach of investigators.
“I have told you that the phone storage is not yours. A white man manufactured the phone and its software. Didn’t you hear it from Dada Joe’s case?” he said in a video shared online.
Abu Trica was extradited to the United States on July 9, 2026, and is facing charges including c0nspiracy to commit wire fr+ad and money laundering in connection with an alleged r0mance sc+m targeting elderly Americans.
He has pleaded not guilty.
